History:The first sites of the Canadian Grand Prix had two homes, one in Tremblant and the other in Villeneuve. In 1970 Tremblant was decided to be too dangerous for racing and made Villeneuve the home Grand Prix for Canada. In 1982 the track was renamed to Gilles Villeneuve in memory following his death in 1982 and this is what the circuit has been called ever since. |
